About this event

Presented by and a fundraiser for Free the Grapes!, the popular DTC Wine Symposium is the wine industry’s annual, national summit on direct marketing and sales.

UPDATE DECEMBER 23, 2021

Dear DTCWS22 Registrants:

We have been monitoring Omicron and COVID-related restrictions very closely. With the agreement of the Free the Grapes! Directors, we have decided to cancel the in-person component of DTCWS 2022 and proceed with a 100% virtual event, as we did in January 2021.

We know this is disappointing; we were all looking forward to, finally, getting together again. But we need to protect and keep the safety of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, Steering Committee, event organizers, volunteers…everyone, as the top priority. And because Free the Grapes! is a non-profit organization, we need to be good fiscal stewards of the contributions made by our attendees, sponsors, and winery trade associations over the years. Finally, there is also time pressure based on allowing people to unwind their travel plans, corporate travel restrictions, negotiating hotel contract commitments, and so forth.

Fortunately, your Steering Committee has been planning a simultaneous virtual event by pre-recording the Sessions, as we did for the all-virtual event in January 2021. We have an excellent Program planned for Keynotes, Workshops, Sponsor Sessions, and a Tradeshow for our sponsors to demo new products/services and engage with you. The DTCWS is still scheduled for January 19-20 -- the pre-recorded Sessions will be “released” for viewing on Whova at the time designated in the Program. A few Sessions will be “live.” Also, many of the pre-recorded Sessions will be immediately followed by a live Q&A with the speakers.

We will be issuing refunds for the difference between the in-person and virtual registration prices, as promised, through EventBrite.

2022 Steering Committee

---------------------------

The 15th annual conference will feature practical advice, thought-provoking keynote speakers, lively networking, and sponsor demos of new products and services. The Steering Committee has planned a simultaneous in-person conference with live streamed content for virtual attendees. We are putting a cap on attendees this year and requiring proof of vaccination for all registrants, sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and organizers. A mask mandate is also likely. These steps are being taken with caution and comfort in mind.

The DTC Wine Symposium has raised more than $1 million for Free the Grapes’ PR campaign, and the Coalition for Free Trade’s legal work (CFT "retired" in 2014 after achieving its goals). These two groups have worked closely with industry lobbyists and regional associations to streamline onerous regulations and to increase the number of legal states from 17 to 47, which represent 96% of the US population.

Cancellation Policy: Registration fees are fully refundable if cancelled online on or before December 17, 2021. Registration fees are not refundable if cancelled on or after December 18, 2021. Cancellations are only accepted online through Eventbrite.

If COVID or other restrictions prevent the in-person version of the conference, registrants who paid for the in-person conference will be reimbursed the difference between the in-person and virtual price. See our website for COVID-related updates, including the Hilton Concord cancellation policies for sleeping room reservations.
