About this event

Presented by and a fundraiser for Free the Grapes!, the popular DTC Wine Symposium is the wine industry’s annual, national summit on direct marketing and sales.

The 15th annual conference will feature practical advice, thought-provoking keynote speakers, lively networking, and sponsor demos of new products and services. The Steering Committee is planning a simultaneous in-person conference with live streamed content for virtual attendees.  

The DTC Wine Symposium has raised more than $1 million for Free the Grapes’ PR campaign, and the Coalition for Free Trade’s legal work (CFT "retired" in 2014 after achieving its goals). These two groups have worked closely with industry lobbyists and regional associations to streamline onerous regulations and to increase the number of legal states from 17 to 47, which represent 96% of the US population.

Cancellation Policy: Registration fees are fully refundable if cancelled online on or before December 17, 2020. Registration fees are not refundable if cancelled on or after December 18, 2020. Cancellations are only accepted online through Eventbrite.

Is the DTC Wine Symposium event virtual AND in-person this year?

Yes, we plan to livestream Sessions as well as hold an in-person conference, COVID restrictions permitting. All registratrants will want to register on our event app, Whova, here: https://whova.com/portal/webapp/dtcws_202201/

After the conference, will registrants get links to recordings of all sessions?

Yes, registrants (only) will have access to video recordings of all Sessions after the event.

Who attends this event?

In past conferences, about 90% of registered attendees are DTC managers, tasting room managers, wine club managers, e-commerce managers, sales and marketing managers; the balance are owners, press and consultants. In 2021, 21 U.S. states were represented with 57% from California.

Are any free tickets offered?

No. The DTC Wine Symposium is an industry fundraiser. There are no free tickets or student discounts.

Are there any in-kind sponsorship opportunities?

No. All sponsorships are paid for. See the Sponsorship page on the website.

Are any discounts offered?

Yes. Early bird discounts save registrants $25 per registration if purchased on or before December 18, 2021, for both the virtual and in-person fees. Also, multi-registrations from the same company save $50 per registration for the in-person conference. So get some colleagues together and save a bundle!

What's the refund policy?

Registration fees are fully refundable if cancelled online on or before December 17, 2021. If registration is cancelled online on or after December 18, 2021 no refund will be issued.

What happens if the in-person portion of the conference is cancelled due to COVID-19?

If that occurs, the conference will take place in an all-virtual format, as we did in January 2021, with pre-recorded sessions. For registrants who paid for the in-person conference, the DTCWS will reimburse the difference between the in-person and virtual price. Are there any additional fees for processing registrations?

Yes, Eventbrite transaction and credit card processing fees are added to each registration.
