Event description

Description

“A movement tour de force. A must-read for those who have committed themselves to the life of the mind and of struggle.” – Rev. Osagyefo Uhuru Sekou, theologian and organizer

Back by popular demand, WIN.NYC's second book discussion of 2017 will be a discussion on, "Direct Action: Protest and the Reinvention of American Radicalism," by L.A. Kauffman. As we take to the streets to #resist the presidency of Donald Trump, L.A. Kauffman’s timely, trenchant history of protest offers unique insights into how past movements have won victories in times of crisis and backlash and how they can be most effective today.

This event is sponsored by Verso Books, a badass book publisher that has generously offered to give us 30% off this book and has offered host our discussion in their office space.

Please note that this event is free but you must RSVP in advance and note that capacity is limited so please don't RSVP if you can't make it. Please also feel free to bring a tasty beverage if you like!

Can't wait to share your thoughts on this lovely book? Tweet 'em to us! Tag @WIN_NYC and use the hashtag #WINReads.
