Description

The DIOA 2018 Annual Conference will be held at The Camby, Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona from Monday, 5 March through Wednesday, 7 March 2018. The main conference will start at 1:00pm on Tuesday, 6 March, run through Wednesday, 7 March, and conclude with a networking dinner that evening at the Heard Museum. Training will precede the conference on Monday, 5 March from 8:00am until 5:00pm, and Tuesday, 6 March from 8:30am until 12:00pm.

The theme for the 2018 conference is "Offsets as a Contact Sport: Offense, Defense, or Special Teams". We recognize that most of our customer countries impose some level of industrial commitment, even though only some of them utilize formal offset requirements to obtain benefits from the contractor. During this year’s main conference we will explore various countries' policies and how to develop a game strategy, score a winning plan and avoid penalties. We will discuss tactics and how defense contractors might establish a strong offense through a series of discussions based on country groups: offset countries, non-offset countries, and emerging requirement countries. Veteran DIOA members well versed in the intricacies of country-specific offset policies will offer training to the rookies and provide in-depth analysis to help get your offset commitment over the goal line.

In the Advanced Training Session we will explore the “how to” aspects of several topics including valuing offset, advanced offset concepts, and discussing this years conference theme, "Offsets as a Contact Sport: Offense, Defense, or Special Teams." In the main Conference we will dive into lessons learned and share best practices pertaining to US Government offset policies and issues, theme-related topics (see above) and analyses by member companies' offset professionals on their experiences in active offset countries.
