Dinner with Energy Professor Catherine Wolfram – Thursday, September 27, 2018

Here is an outstanding opportunity to engage with well-known Berkeley Haas energy economist Catherine Wolfram, a specialist in developing world energy solutions.

You will be sitting across the dinner table from Professor Wolfram at Walnut Creek’s Massimo Ristorante with a small group of other Haas alumni.

Catherine notes that nearly every discussion of energy in the developing world quickly turns to a focus on energy access, noting, for instance, the 1.2 billion people in the world who live without electricity in their homes. She would like to share some thoughts on energy access, based on work she is doing in Kenya, Ghana and Uganda.

Some questions to think about…what are the impacts of rural electrification? How reliable are the grid systems in the developing corners of the world? What about solar home systems in those areas? What does the future look like?
