Dinner & Update on Religious Liberty vs. HHS Mandate
Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (CDT)
Saint Paul, MN
Many Americans believe that our free exercise of religion protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution is violated by the federal government's requirement that employers pay for employees' contraception and abortion-inducing drugs. Greg Hall, a Catholic deacon and owner of American Manufacturing Company in St. Joseph, MN, is one of those Americans. He and his lawyer, Erick Kaardal, will discuss Deacon Hall's lawsuit to stop the federal goverment from forcing him to purchase health insurance coverage for contraception and abortion-inducing drugs. Deacon Hall's company, which manufactures mining equipment, captured worldwide attention for its role in helping rescue 33 trapped Chilean miners in 2010. This lawsuit is one of four currently being heard by Minnesota federal courts.
Sponsored in collaboration with the Office of Marriage, Family and Life for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul - Minneapolis.
