Event description

JayTee of Sarap AF is hosting a Filipino themed dinner at Feastown, located at Eastown apartments in Hollywood. Join us for a night with a twist on traditional filipino food, drinks, and stories.

The Menu:

The inspiration for this menu stems from the recipes and dishes my mom would make for me as a child. Taking those childhood favorites of mine while growing up, I want to impart the flavors and techniques I have come across here in sunny Southern California. Keeping them deliciously detailed and absolutely authentic I wish to share my culture as a Filipino American growing up in the U.S. through the art of food and hospitality.

About JayTee & Sarap AF:

My name is John (JT) Gonzales and I am the Co-Owner of Sarap Asian Fusion. My culinary journey began while I was in college, I moved out of my parents house and was living on my own. Feeling homesick and missing my moms homemade recipes I started cooking a lot so that I would be able to recreate the beloved flavors of my culture. Every time I visited home I started observing how my mom would cook and started taking notes on her recipes and techniques. Nearing graduation and having cooked for a lot of my closest friends, they were very encouraging in letting me know that I had this hidden talent for creating food and that it should be shared with the masses. So after graduating, my best friends and I took a leap of faith and started Sarap Asian Fusion, a food company that takes classic Filipino and Asian flavors and present them in a new and innovative way. With our sweet and colorful treats like ube, matcha, and black sesame cookies and brownies creating a buzz online, we are now also diving into savory treats hosting pop up dinners in DTLA and Santa Monica.
