FAQs

Recent Covid Safety Updates:

To protect to the extent reasonably possible, the health and safety of our employees, fellow volunteers and clients from the direct threat resulting from the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and to members of the public, we now require all PATH volunteers to get vaccinated against COVID-19. PATH must maintain the confidentiality of vaccination status as provided by law. Vaccination records will be used for viewing purposes only upon entry and will not be scanned or stored in any digital or hard copy location by PATH staff. Please contact sigrids@epath.org with any questions or concerns.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to volunteer?

Anyone under the age of 16 must have a parental guardian or chaperone. Ages 16-18 may volunteer on their own with a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

Do you accept walk-in volunteers?

All volunteers must be scheduled in advance via EventBrite. Due to health and safety regulations, there are no exceptions to this rule.

What should I wear?

PATH recommends casual and comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. In addition, please be mindful of the level of appropriateness of your dress.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? How do I enter the building?

PATH Connections Housing is located at 1250 Sixth Ave, on the corner of Sixth Ave and A Street. Please enter the building at the A Street entrance. There is metered parking on the surrounding streets for $1.25/hour, as well as pay lots on the surrounding blocks, such as Ace Parking. Carpooling is highly suggested. We are also only 1.5 blocks from the C Street trolley exit.

Can I get my hours verified for school or work?

Yes, PATH can provide a volunteer service letter to verify your hours for school or work purposes. PATH does not accept court ordered volunteers and cannot provide verification of hours served.

PATH is committed to ending homelessness for individuals, families and communities. We do this by building affordable rental homes and providing supportive services. In early 2013, PATH San Diego, and its development partners – Affirmed Housing Group and PATH Ventures – created Connections Housing, an integrated service and residential community in Downtown San Diego that is designed to help local homeless neighbors rebuild their lives and move into permanent housing. Since opening, PATH San Diego has served over 1,300 people, and helped 800 of our homeless neighbors Make it Home.

PATH San Diego is part of PATH’s statewide initiative that has helped nearly 8,000 people move off the streets, out of shelters and into permanent homes since 2013.
