The Dallas Fort Worth Area IMA Chapter will meet Wednesday, November 8th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dallas-Farmers Branch, 11611 Luna Rd, Farmers Branch

Two (2) CPE hours for both CMAs and CPAs are provided. Attendees must sign in and out and be present for the presentation in order to receive CPE credit. CPE certificates will be sent in an email for those who have met the requirements.

Professional Development Session – Chinese Economy Overview by Jun (Mike) Pu, Ph.D., CMA (IMA Global Director, Professor, University of International Business, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China)

In this session, attendees will get insight into the Chinese economy from a China perspective.

Prerequisites: None

This program will consist of a presentation, requiring no advance preparation.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Jun Pu is an associate professor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing and a council member of the Accounting Society of China. His research areas include international business, financial management and control, and performance evaluation. He is the author of more than 30 academic articles in top academic journals as well as three textbooks.

A Certified Management Accountant (CMA®), Dr. Pu earned his Ph.D. from the UIBE in 2005. His prior work experience includes positions at leading companies such as IBM, Motorola, China Cinda Asset Management Corporation, Beijing Capital International Airport Group, Northeast Pharmaceutical Group, and Beijing Automotive Investment Co., Ltd.


Technical Session – Six Sigma by Virginia “Ginger” R. White, CMA, Six Sigma Master Black Belt (IMA Global Chair-Elect, Corporate Purchasing Finance Director, Cummins Inc.)

In this session, attendees will learn about Six Sigma best practices.

This program will consist of a presentation, requiring no advance preparation.

About the Speaker:

Ginger White serves as IMA’s Chair-Elect for the fiscal year 2017-2018. She also serves as the Chair of Planning and Development and Nominating Committees for fiscal year 2017-2018.

Ginger is currently the corporate purchasing finance director at Cummins Inc, a global power leader that designs, manufactures, sells, and services diesel and alternative fuel engines; diesel and alternative-fueled electrical generator sets; and related components and technology. Based in Columbus, Ind. White supports Cummins global, direct, and indirect purchasing leaders with financial reporting and analysis, responsible for a $12B companywide spend. She has been employed by Cummins since 1997.

Currently, White is serving on the IMA Global Board of Directors and is a member of the Planning and Development Board Committee. A member of IMA since 1999, White has held various positions on the Board of IMA’s South Central Indiana Chapter, including a term as president. She also served on the Lincoln Trail Regional Council, where she was the IMA student representative, chair of the student committee, regional vice president, and president. She previously served two terms as chair of IMA’s Member Relations Board Committee, a term as chair of IMA’s Performance Oversight and Audit Board Committee, a member of IMA’s Nominating Board Committee, and a member of IMA’s Governance Committee.
