Please join us for an evening in Old Havana, the first in a series of dinner parties focusing on art, design, culture, music and creativity.
This can’t-miss event will feature Cuban music and entertainment as well as a Cuban cigar roller and other authentic touches that will bring the passion and culture of our little island neighbor to the heart of Hill Country. An elite list of local craftsmen and designers will come together for a common purpose — to meet + greet, drink + dine, connect + give.
This first themed dinner by Chef Ned Elliott of Foreign & Domestic will be held at a private residence on Lake Austin and will benefit, Moppie's Love, a charity that assists families who are dealing with or who have survived childhood cancer.
Their mission is to provide funds in a streamlined manner to meet the special needs of families with children either with childhood cancer or who have survived childhood cancer. The funds are offered to help working parents (often single parents) take a brief leave from work to care for their children, so they don't have to decide between accompanying their child through the initial stages of chemotherapy or keeping their job. Often funds are used to provide transportation or to assist with temporary living close to the hospital for out of town families when other options are not available. In other cases, they are used simply to provide rent, mortgage payments, or utilities when a family is starting to break under the incremental economic stress that increased out-of-pocket medical expenses add to an already challenged budget.
