TAZZEKA WITH ZOOM PRESENTATION SOLD OUT | BUT TAZZEKA ONLY (movie-only) ON SALE.
If you just want to watch the movie tonight (start any time between 6:30pm and 12:30am) and eat your Moroccan-influenced food, we are now selling Tazzeka-only tickets.
No matter what you do, check out our Dinner and a Movie: East Side Sushi next Friday (May 1), 6:30pm
Starting Friday, April 24th, the Flatirons Food Film Festival will offer an online weekly dinner and movie series for everyone who loves food and film to safely enjoy together. With a streaming movie, takeout dishes from recommended restaurants, recommended recipes for dishes related to the film, and expert speakers, each Dinner and A Movie event will offer a Festival experience from your living room. Hard times call for community and nothing says community like a shared dinner and food related movie.
Dinner and A Movie is intended to support Boulder and Denver restaurants and food businesses. It presents an occasion to give back to our restaurant friends and neighbors by buying their delicious takeout/delivery meals.
First Dinner and a Movie event!
Film: Our first streaming film will be Tazzeka, a drama about a Moroccan boy who wants to become a haute cuisine chef. Tazzeka screened at the 2019 Flatirons Food Film Festival. More film information, including a preview, is available through the Flatirons Food Film Festival website at http://www.flatironsfoodfilmfest.org/films
Featured restaurants: Moroccan-influenced takeout/delivery meals will be available from Babette's Artisan Bread in Longmont, Blackbelly, Cafe Aion in Boulder, Eat at Community in Lafayette, and Fruition in Denver.
Speakers: Peggy Markel of Peggy Markel’s Culinary Adventures will introduce the film. After the film, she will discuss Tazzeka with Sara Brito of Good Food 100 Restaurants and answer viewer questions.
How it Works
If you are ordering from one of the participating restaurant, be sure to get your meals picked up or delivered before before the event. The list of participating restaurants is below and will change with each movie. If you are cooking the suggested recipes, have them ready to go at show time.
About an hour before the Dinner and a Movie start time, you will receive an email with information on how to access the streaming film and live Zoom presentation as well as the evenings schedule. Then you can join us for the live event which starts at 6:30pm where we eat and watch the film together and have guest speakers joining us for discussion about the film. If you cannot make the live event, you can still access the film and recorded speakers until 12:30am the day of the event. The takeout will be just as tasty later in the evening.
Restaurant information
If a restaurant offers its own delivery service, we suggest that you select it over third-party services. That option helps them more financially. Some of the listed restaurants only offer takeout.
Note: Even if you do not purchase a meal, we encourage you to purchase gift cards for these or any of your favorite restaurants if you can do so. In a difficult climate for the restaurant industry, gift cards help restaurants survive and give you a meal to which you can look forward.
