"Dining in the Dark: New Year's Eve"
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Dining in the Dark is a distinctive sensory awareness experience in which guests participate in an unforgettable dining adventure of eating in complete darkness. Join Natasha's for an imaginative and creative New Year's Eve menu, prepared especially for the senses of smell, taste, sound, and texture. After each course, participants will be invited to remove their blindfolds to see what they have been eating.
The concept of “Dark Dining,” which enjoyed significant popularity throughout Europe for several years before its introduction in various major cities throughout the United States, has been defined as “a sensory overload that maximizes flavor by suppressing vision, creating the ultimate in dining experience.” The IdeaFestival has hosted several "Lights Out Dinners" in Louisville and Lexington from 2008 to 2012. Ring in the New Year with a memorable dining experience at Natasha's.
This is an exclusive event, prepared by Natasha's and sponsored by IF University. Preregistration is required. This is a special chef's table for Dining in the Dark participants.
Cost of the dinner is $49 per person, and includes all food, drink, wine, tax and gratuity. Space is limited to 8 guests at a special chef's table. As a Kentucky Proud event all the dishes emphasize locally sourced and organic-where-possible ingredients. Although meat and dairy do play an important role in this event, servers will be able to avoid any lifestyle surprises and upsets by monitoring your courses.
