Dilemmas of Belonging: An Alternative Evening
Event Information
About this Event
Diaspora Reflections is a storytelling platform that connects African creatives with members of the diaspora and beyond. We are eager to spark refreshing and diverse conversations amongst the diaspora from across Africa and beyond, exploring different strands of the African diaspora experience. We are, and will remain an open house for all those of African-descent from all countries, regardless of background, sexual orientation, belief, and colour; from first to fifth generation settlers and beyond, including allies.
This launch event is a festival celebrating all the things we love about Africa, while acknowledging the daily struggles of the African Diaspora in the West and beyond.
Dilemmas of Belonging covers all the tensions, joys, and failures of assimilating in cultures not built with foreigners in mind.
