About this Event
6 contact hours provided by NYSED, the Office of the State Board of Social Work for LCSWs /LMSWs; 6 contact hours by NYSED Board of Mental Health Practitioners for LMHCs, and LMFTs; Pending 6 CEU hours by NYS OASAS for CASAC/CPP/CPS re-credentialing and CPP/CPS credentialing hours.
As part of New York State’s Dignity for All Students Act, school professionals applying for a certificate or license, including but not limited to classroom teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, school administrators or supervisors, and superintendents of schools must complete six clock hours of training prior to certification. With this training, participants will fulfill the Dignity Act training requirement and will learn:
- The social patterns of harassment, bullying, and discrimination
- Identification and mitigation of harassment, bullying and discrimination
- Strategies for effectively addressing exclusion, bias and aggression in educational settings
Student Assistance Services Corporation SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0101; and by NYSED’s State Board of Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of Continuing Education for licensed mental health counselors #MHC-0013; and for licensed marriage and family therapists #MFT-0074.
