About this event

Each month, the UCR Library hosts casual community conversations on digital research, teaching, and publishing. These informal meetups are designed to facilitate collaborative learning and connection across all disciplines and departments at UCR. All UCR community members are welcome to attend, regardless of your prior experience with digital humanities or digital scholarship!

Each meeting will focus on a specific topic within digital scholarship (see the list below). This quarter our topics will focus on the process of collaboratively building an interactive map of fruit trees at UCR. Over the course of three meetups, we will discuss and implement strategies for crowdsourcing data, managing that data, and importing it into various mapping platforms. There will be opportunities for both virtual and on-campus participation in the co-creation of this lightweight digital project! Join us for any or all of these meetups as you’re available; none are prerequisite for others.

Community members are always invited to share their projects and experiences with related tools, and participate in informal conversation about the topic of the week. You may also be interested in the Maker Meetup summer event series. Complete List of UCR Library Events

All participants are expected to follow and uphold UC Riverside's Principles of Community.

Coordinators: Krystal Boehlert and Rachel Starry
