Event description

Description

This session will showcase three of the exciting digital humanities projects being done by researchers associated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions at UWA.

The first project, Emotions3D by Joanna Tyler, is an online collection of lifelike 3D digital museum artefacts being used to teach history, science and media in WA schools.

The second project, Digital Technologies for Ancient Chinese Heritage Landscapes by Dr Jane-Heloise Nancarrow, allows individuals to learn how cultural forces shaped landscape use and urban environments through aerial drone footage, laser scanning, and photogrammetry visualisations.

The third project, Fighting Words by Dr Michael Ovens, is a virtual reality experience which helps students and researchers engage with the spatial dynamics of medieval literary combat narratives.

This session will feature three 15-minute presentations and a session of open interaction with the presenters’ digital creations.
