Digital Health in a Connected Hospital

Digital Health is about exploiting the new capabilities in data, sensing, networking and software to better meet healthcare needs.  It is relevant to many aspects of life sciences from drug discovery and disease understanding (through data) but in the context of this paper, it focuses on digital solutions to support patient management and clinical efficiencies.

The Technology Strategy Board has invested considerable funds to address one part of a patient journey, related to the transformational change of future healthcare and particularly how to deliver more effective support in the community.

It is also recognised that even with more effective community health and social care, there are points when patients and people need to transition in and out of hospital or other care settings for which digital solutions are not yet integrated and exploited. It is the intention therefore, to launch a funding call that will focus down on some key areas that can support transition points in patient flows. This meets the needs of both the market place and also of businesses and researchers who have potential knowledge and innovative solutions which can be repurposed and/or demonstrated for their relevance to current healthcare challenges.

We welcome you to attend the breifing event in London to find out more about the competition and information on how to apply.
