Want to make something special for the holidays? Give a try at making an ornament using the cool digital fabrication equipment we have at the makerspace! We have two different types of machines you can use for this event: the CNC Routers and the 3D Printers.
This is a family friendly event, which means ages 12 to 112!
We require attendees bring their own laptop for this workshop! We are able to provide a couple laptops based on need and availability.
For the CNC Router group, we will go over how to prepare a design and draw it out in a program called CamBam (available for download here for Windows computers). We will work together and make custom-designed snowflakes to be carved out of thin acrylic. After they are carved, we will give them a nice frosty look using a palm-sander!
For the 3D Printer group, we will cover how to make snowflakes in TinkerCAD and then prepare them for 3D Printing using various software available to us.
