Event description

Description

This beginners class will introduce you to Inkscape, a free 2D design program used to create digital art for web or print, which can also be used to make things with Technocopia's laser and vinyl cutters. This class focuses on how to process a digital file so it may be cut on a Roland vinyl cutter to produce a sticker.

In this vinyl cutter class we will cover:

- Learning about the different types of vinyl
- Understanding the mechanics of the vinyl cutter
- Setting up an Inkscape design for printing
- Testing different vinyls and changing settings
- Weeding the excess vinyl using special tools
- Applying transfer tape to design

Computers will be provided. Need help installing Inkscape on your own computer? Feel free to bring it along and we'll help!

This class is ages 16+. Youth aged 12-15 may attend for free, but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Visit the Inkscape homepage here: https://inkscape.org/en/

PLEASE NOTE: Registration via Eventbrite is preferred to ensure a seat in the class, however, if you wish to pay by cash or check, please notify us immediately at info@technocopia.org. Thank you!
