Lecture Objective

CAD/CAM technology is revolutionizing dentistry as we know it. Clinicians who have incorporated digital solutions into their practices have found significantly improved workflow efficiency and ease of collaboration with laboratories. Techniques will be reviewed for traditional provisional and abutment fabrication. The lecturer will also highlight treatment alternatives for the molar socket including immediate implant placement. The use of ultra-wide immediate molar replacement implants can reduce the need for ancillary procedures, such as sinus lifts or additional extensive grafting. The ultra-wide platform of the implant allows for improved molar emergence profiles to reduce the size of gingival embrasure spaces and therefore reduce the potential for food impaction. This lecture is intended for all implant surgeons, restorative dentists and laboratory technicians.

At the end of the lecture the participant will have gained insights on how to:
• Understand the challenges of getting into digital dentistry
• Improve emergence profiles and reduce large gingival embrasure spaces
• Implement treatment alternatives for immediate molar extraction sockets
• List the indications and contraindications for CAD/CAM restorations
• Demonstrate clinical cases treated with digital workflows
