Phil Staiger: Drawing landscapes with Cityscapes for game art with the Huion 1060-PLUS Tablet and PD Artist
Whether it is for sci-fi game art, comic books, music videos or backgrounds in architectural illustrations, you always need a variety of buildings, skyscrapers, towers, scaffoldings, domes, arenas, construction cranes and other structures somewhere in a background scene. We’ve been creating brush collections and assets for use in Project Dogwaffle, based photographs of true buildings, changing some for a modern, sci-fi look, and reducing others to prepare them for post-apocalyptic appearance. Discover a variety of techniques to make your own, and paint your city landscapes, aka cityscapes, in just seconds.
Phil Staiger: Creating looping, seamless and animated digital assets with PD Howler on Steam
This demo will be based on PD Artist (www.thebest3d.com/pda) but many of the steps and techniques can also be applied with other painting programs. The presentation will include some entry-level techniques for making good selection masks, as well as more advanced topics like creating animated brushes based on collections of images, as well as painting them in a way to automagically scale the size of the buildings based on a controlling gradient that sets the perspective distance of painted items.
