Event description

Description

As an advocacy strategy, in 2016, WEDO launched the Gender Climate Tracker App to provide experts, decision-makers, negotiators and advocates on-the-go access to the latest information on research, decisions and actions related to gender and climate change. By reviewing, compiling and publishing this information, the app aims to empower civil society, governments and citizens to hold their governments accountable to their gender commitments. As part of a collaboration with students of Drew University, this event will assess the influence the data provided in this app has had on global policy, what data is missing that would strengthen the goals of the app, and how could the data be showcased differently or more interactively to better engage users and inform policy. It will also explore other types of digital advocacy and how this can be effective for social and environmental justice.
