Description

POPULAR HIKE!!
Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers

Spend earth day with us as we explore Warren Woods State Park; one of the region's premier places to view spring ephemeral wildflowers. Depending upon spring temperatures, wildflowers in bloom may include Bloodroot, Yellow Trout Lily, Hepatica, Dutchman’s Breeches, False Rue Anemone, Limestone Bittercress and much more. Participants will learn a bit about the physiology, history and folklore of the plants along the way, and late April should provide us with a number of migratory birds to hear and observe as well. The relatively easy to walk path leads along the Galien River, and depending upon the weather, it could be muddy in spots, so participants should wear suitable footwear. Binoculars and cameras are also highly recommended accessories

Feel free to bring a lunch. Picnic Tables are on site.

Please park at the Elm Valley Road parking area.

Please note: This hike is 12:00 CST and 1:00 EST, Limited to 20 people.
