Event Details

Join us to discuss recent research linking our diet to brain health and memory.

Like so many other chronic conditions, our brains suffer the consequences of the SAD... Standard American Diet. Learn what you can do NOW to save your memory and ideally avoid experiencing that tragic loss of not only your precious memories, but your whole personality. Who should be concerned? ALL OF US. Experts predIct that 50% of our senior population will suffer from dementia in the coming few decades. We can help prevent this.

Enjoy two brain-boosting, delicious recipes and lively discussion that will include brief video segments by Dr. Neal Barnard of PCRM. org and Dr. Michael Greger of NutritionFacts. org.

Beth Perera

Beth transitioned to a plant-based diet in April 2010 to rid herself of painful arthritic symptoms in her feet. Barely able to get into a pair of shoes, she sought treatment that could make a difference without medication or surgery. She discovered the world of whole-food, plant-based nutrition and within months, her symptoms were nearly gone, and walking, hiking, and even dancing were comfortable again!

Eager to share her discovery with the world, Beth continued her education and received her Plant-Based Nutrition certification from eCornell, Food For Life Cooking Instructor certification from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), Starch-Based Instructor certification through the Dr. John McDougall program, and Women's Health and Food Over Medicine certifications from Dr. Pamela Popper's Wellness Forum Health. In addition to teaching and speaking across the country, Beth was recently hired as Wellness Forum Health's General Manager.

Beth is passionate about helping her students understand and implement easy food choices and simple cooking skills that lead to optimal health. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and her workshops are interactive, fun, and incredibly informative!

What we believe "runs in our family" is likely not the disease, but the diet. Change your diet and change your health future and that of your family! JOIN US!
