This day conference is a collaboration between the Church of Ireland Interfaith Working Group and the Sanctuary in Faith Stream of Places of Sanctuary Ireland.

Keynote speaker: THE REVD BONNIE EVANS-HILLS, Member, Scottish Episcopal Church Inter-Faith Relations Committee

Bonnie Evans-Hills is a priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and has considerable experience in inter-religious dialogue, working with organisations such as the EU Commission on Foreign Affairs & Security, the World Council of Churches, Churches Together in Britain & Ireland, the Anglican Communion, and the Anglican Mission organisation USPG (United Society for Partners in the Gospel). Bonnie has been involved in contributing to the UN Office for the Prevention of Genocide’s Global Plan of Action for Religious Leaders & Actors. Alongside several other publications, Bonnie is co-author of the book ‘Engaging Islam from a Christian Perspective,’ published by Peter Lang. She was recently awarded the Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Raising Awareness: NIAMH MCDONALD, Director, Hope and Courage

The Hope and Courage Collective (H&CC) is an independent national organisation supporting communities and a broader ecosystem in Ireland working for safe, inclusive, caring and resilient communities, workplaces and democracy capable of inhibiting the spread of far-right hate and extremism. We work closely with groups experiencing and harmed by far right hate, and with broader society to make sure communities have what they need to stop the far-right, intent on normalising hate and division. The primary focus of our work is Ireland.

Niamh McDonald is Director of the Hope and Courage Collective. Niamh has been involved in community organizing and campaigning for over 15 years on issues such as housing, reproductive rights and economic justice through the lense of gender. Niamh graduated from Maynooth University with a B.A. Applied Social Studies.

Collective Tea/coffee available from 10.00am, with programme beginning at 10:30am sharp.

The programme will conclude at 4.00pm.

Lunch is included, prepared by ‘Cooking for Freedom’, a group of residents from direct provision centres around Dublin, who gather for cooking and conversation in community kitchen spaces, including in Wesley House.

'Cooking for Freedom’ are regular users of the kitchen facility.
