Event Details

The focus of this mini-retreat is breathing exercises, mobilization exercises and plenty of time settling into relaxation. Smooth easy breathing and abdominal stimulation helps increase the blood and oxygen supply to the pancreas, helping to increase insulin production and reduce blood sugar levels. Relieve symptoms. Build endurance. Restore the body to health.

10:45am-12:15pm  Gentle Asana Class—for pancreas health

12:30pm  Vegetarian lunch provided

1:30-3:00pm  Talk: Mind-Body Integration to Relieve Stress

3:15-4:15pm  Meditation—for endocrine gland function

Please plan to take it easy in the evening.

 

Sunday • 3/31

10:30am-noon  Gentle Asana Class with breath awareness

12:15pm  Vegetarian lunch provided

1:15-2:45pm  Talk: Healthy Practices for You

3:00-4:00pm  Goal-setting for positive change

4:15pm on  Individual 15-minute followups for each participant

 

Participants are encouraged to make an appointment in advance for an intake session. This will help us better serve you.

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center presents the core, true, classical teachings of the essential Yoga practices and philosophy for Self-Realization.

Swami Sivananda, a great modern yogi and saint from the Himalayas, was a medical doctor before becoming a monk and famous sage. He is the guru of Swami Vishnudevananda, who founded the organization named Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, under the name of his Master.

The Yoga we teach is the classical yoga/meditation method coming from Patanjali—the eight limbs of Yoga.

Vedanta philosophy comes from the Vedas, the oldest scripture known to humankind. It explains what the end is and how to achieve it. It teaches the unity of life or oneness of consciousness, and forms the philosophical basis of the teaching of Yoga.

The motto "Unity in Diversity" points out that Oneness is our essence. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a non-profit, volunteer-based, spiritual organization open to all, irrespective of age, race, creed, sexual orientation or status.
