Description

Train to become a leader of Stanford University's six-week Steps for Healthier Living™ Diabetes Self-Management Program

Dates: Tues, November 7, 14, 21, and 28

Time: 9am - 4pm

**Training will take place over 4 days. Attendance at all 4 days is required to become certifed.**

  • This training is being offered for FREE to AAMC employees
  • Nurses may use these workshops for Clinical Ladder and towards most specialty certifications
  • This activity has been submitted to Maryland Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. AAMC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.




Leaders help individuals with type 2 and pre-diabetes achieve the following objectives:

  • Understanding the disease
  • Avoiding complications associated with diabetes
  • Health eating, reading labels, and meal planning
  • Techniques to deal with the symptoms and emotional aspects of diabetes
  • Working more effectively with health care providers




Must be willing to teach 2 workshops per year for AAMC or at community partner locations with in Anne Arundel County. This program is a coordianted effort through Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and the Wellness Office at AAMC. All applicants must be approved by Chris Crabbs of the Wellness Office.
