Event Information
Description
This Community Dialogue is open to the public, students, and health care providers to discuss and learn about support and education around the increasingly important and diverging topic of Diabetes. This dialogue will include panelists with expertise in diabetes education, nutrition, faith based support, and success stories.
The purpose of the panel will be to engage discussion around how to empower patients to self-advocate, make correct nutritional decisions, define the differences in diabetes and know how to ask the best questions of your health care provider.
Hosted by the Health Disparities Team in collaboration with Huston-Tillotson University and the Community Coalition for Health in Round Rock, the goal is to bring together a diverse group of community members and professionals to increase awareness, develop self-advocacy strategies, and empower all in order to achieve strong partnerships between families, patients and health care provider teams.
