Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) 5k Run/Walk
Please join us for the second annual Dia de los Muertos 5k Run/Walk Race as a part of the Dia de los Muertos Festival! Run or walk in memory of lost loved ones.
The Run/Walk Para Los Muertos is for those who must express themselves through movement, through something with more energy to honor the dead. Not everyone is interested in building an ofrenda or a memorial, some people need to process death in a different expression - some dance, some paint, some bike, some run, some walk. All forms of expression are excepted and welcomed to this festivity where we are respecting and honoring the lives of those who have passed into death. Furthermore, there are deep roots in Native American spirituality including the Mayas, the Mexicas or Aztecs, where those who run or walk use each step to the Earth as a prayer to honor those who came and passed before them.
All people are welcome and encouraged to participate and we look forward to seeing you there! Register now through August 31st for a low price of $25! Upon registration, you'll receive a free t-shirt.
