Description

Celebrate Día de los Muertos After Hours. The museum will open its doors for a free, family-friendly evening during the Day of the Dead Festival. Dance to Mariachis Los Amigos with the Mexican folk dance group Bailes de Mi Tierra. Enjoy food and drinks—including tacos, tamales, mescal cocktails, desserts, and agua fresca—from local vendors Taco Bamba, Tico, Hellbender Brewing Company, and the museum’s Mitsitam Café. Help create an interactive mural, learn to make paper marigolds, and enjoy exclusive access to the galleries.

There is no charge to attend Día de los Muertos After Hours. Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase onsite with a debit or credit card. The museum is unable to accept cash for food and beverage ticket purchases. Tickets are non-refundable at the end of the evening.

This event is currently sold out, though more tickets may become available closer to the event and at the door.

No, this event is open to attendees of all ages!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The National Museum of the American Indian is located on the National Mall between the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum and the U.S. Capitol. The museum is metro and bus accessable and does not have parking. Parking is available by meter on the surrounding streets and in local paid parking garages.
