Description

Enter one of the most cherished and unique protected spaces: Spruce Woods Provincial Park!

This park is home to active sand dunes that have been historically significant to Indigenous people for centuries. Unique and endangered creatures like the hognose snake and skink live in these hills!

Information about the hike:

We will be hiking to Devil's Punch Bowl, an erie blue-green bowl shaped pool of water in the most unlikely of places. This is a 13.2 km hike that will take at least three hours to complete. Please be forwarned that there are many sandy spots and stairs on this trail. Proper footwear and water are a must!

We will meet at 11 am at the Spirit Sands Trail parking lot, which is off of highway 5, past the park entrance of you are coming from Glenboro. It is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Winnipeg. You will need a MB park pass, or cash to pay for daily parking.

Mountain Chicks Attendance Policy in effect.
