Program Description: This training is designed to help clinicians who are seeing to develop/enhance their supervisory skills by better understanding supervision within the context of a developmental framework that focuses on the establishment of clinical competencies.


  • Become familiar with theories of developmental supervision.
  • Understand the development of clinical competencies as occurring in at least 3 distinct stages.
  • Increase confidence in supervisory skills.


  • Participants will be able to define “competency based supervision”.
  • Participants will describe the stages of clinical development.
  • Participants will develop a specific plan for developing/expanding the competencies of their supervisees.

Cancellation Policy:
You may cancel your registration any time up to one business day prior to and receive a full refund.  No refunds will be given for cancellation made with less than one business day notice.  Agencies are welcome to send a substitute participant in place of a registered participant if a registered participant cannot attend.  In the event that a training is cancelled by MOPS due to inclement weather, health of the presenter, etc. you will receive a full refund or a credit for a future workshop, whichever you desire.  Payment can be made before the training day or the morning of training.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to training if payment is being made the morning of the training.

Electronic Devices:

Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. provides access to internet services for training participants.  During the training, please limit the use electronic devices to activities that enhance the learning experience as opposed to personal/recreational activities.  When using such devices, please do so in such a way as to minimize disruption and with consideration for the presenter and other participants.  


Course Hours:
Sign-in begins at 8:30am. Coffee, hot tea, and water are provided. For full-day trainings (9am-4pm), a 15 minute break will be given in the morning and afternoon in addition to a 30 minute lunch break, with snaks and meals on your own. For half day trainings (9am-1:15pm), a 15 minute break wil be given approximately half way through the training. Full attendance will be required to receive a certificate of completion; no partial credits will be offered for individuals missing more than a total of fifteen (15) minutes course time.

Continuing Education Credit:

Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. has been approved as a CE provider by the Ohio Psychological Association (#311358292) and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board (RCS060502).

Ohio Psychologists:
Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. is offering this activity for continuing education credit. Full attendance is required; no partial credits will be offered for partial attendance.

Ohio Counselors & Social Workers:
Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, Inc. is an approved provider with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board. Full attendance at this course meets the qualifications for continuing education credit.
