Wearables (30 min) | Des Produits Portables (30 min)
Pierre-Alexandre Fournier
CEO, Hexoskin

Connected wearables are now affordable and reliable. They provide personal health data that will make health monitoring an order of magnitude more accessible, a revolution in healthcare. Pierre-Alexandre will talk about how this affects personal health, clinical research, and medicine, with concrete applications using wearables and artificial intelligence.

Developing Wearables (30 min) | Développement de Produits Portables (30 min)
Alexandre Desilets-Benoit
CTO, Proximity HCI

Alexandre will present the evolution of Proximity/Spill's product over the last 2 years as we engaged with various OEMs. How we went from a middle ware OEM model to a plug-and-play B-to-B model. I'll share insight we gathered from our 2 CES experiences, and maintaining relationships with Tier 1 and 2 OEMs.

The Mindset Story (30 min) | Le Histoire de Mindset (30 min)
Jacob Flood
CEO, Mindset

Mindset is a pair of over ear headphones that measure brain activity in order to improve concentration. It starts with everything you would expect in a great pair of headphones, but it goes one step further with EEG technology. Mindset has raised over a million dollars on Kickstarter, and is continuing to gain momentum on Indiegogo.

Jacob will present a systematic view of the process of building a hardware company – from idea to prototyping, kickstarter, manufacturing, fundraising, and (hopefully) beyond.

Pierre-Alexandre Fournier

Pierre-Alexandre Fournier is co-founder and CEO of Hexoskin, a connected health technology company based in Montreal that focuses on smart clothing design and AI software for health and performance. Hexoskin was founded in 2006, and launched in 2013 the first iPhone compatible smart clothing for health monitoring, which won several international awards. In 2018 Hexoskin will equip the International Space Station with a remote health monitoring system for astronauts.

Alexandre Desilets-Benoit

Alexandre Desilets-Benoit is a physicist turned entrepreneur. His expertise in physics covers aeronautical high density steel, superconductivity, cryogenics, crystal growth, MEMS, and data/signal processing. He co-founded Fit.jobs in 2015 where he took the role of CSO. Fit.jobs leveraged ML, big data and business psychology as a SaaS in the HR space offering actionable insight to increase work space affinity and reduce turnover. He is now co-founder and CTO of Proximity/Spill, a Montreal Start-up focusing on bringing real-time context validation to mobile advertising and natural user interactions to smart devices through A.I.

Jacob Flood

As a student living in the 21st century, Jacob spent his university career trying to find ways to overcome the effects of technology and improve productivity. He looked into fitness programs for improved cognition, nutrition for better brain health, and an array of biofeedback devices, smart drugs, and work habit changes. Along the way Jacob published a book on productivity enhancement for students.

He became interested in medical braintech - using EEG sensors to improve concentration, lower anxiety, and more. With background in AI and neuroscience research, he formulated a plan for consumer braintech. Neurofeedback is powerful, but not accessible - Mindset solves this.
