  Developing to the CORE a one year opportunity to become a leader in the Mathematics CCSS!


 Commit to:

Collaborating with colleagues across Northern Nevada

Attending a week- long summer institute on Number for grades K-2 or Fractions for grades 3-5

Attending an additional 6 follow-up Saturday support sessions throughout the 2012/2013 school year.



The latest information on implementing the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics!

On-going support from a team who understands your needs in your district.

Receive two graduate credits from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Receive the 8th edition of Elementary and Middle School Mathematics: Teaching developmentally by  Van de Wall, Karp, Bay-Williams.

Successful completion of all grant requirements, attendance at all sessions, and collaboration will earn you an $600 (pre-tax)!

Receive two State of Nevada, in-service credits!

Opportunities to earn additional incentives including classroom manipulatives!

*School teams will receive additional resource kits and on-going professional development support!

Complete applications due by April 4th, 2012. 


Letters of Acceptance will be sent between May 1st-May 14th, 2012.

 *A school team is defined as an primary teacher, an intermediate teacher, and the school administrator- all from the same school.  Schools with a total student population of 150 students or less are considered small schools and will require only one teacher and the administrator to be considered a school team.

Site administrators will be required to attend a Friday session with their teachers during the summer institute and agree to support their teachers in this grant.
