Developing an Integrated Strategy for Pediatric Feeding Issues (for PT, OT, SLP)
Designed for all EI Clinicians, and co-led by a SLP Feeding Specialist, this session focusses on eating mechanics, intake issues, postural support and how all members of the team can help the young child in this most basic need. How to observe eating and develop strategies to impact the mechanics of feeding and its impact on speech production in the young child will be elucidated.
Who Should Attend:
Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists and Special Education Teachers
This series combines lecture, case studies with analysis, advanced reading and interpretation of current/important articles and group discussion in order to enhance clinical skills. Clinicians interested in increasing and improving their repertoire of interventions which can be directly applied to current and future caseloads should be attending this series. Led by master clinician, Julianne Costa, OTR/L, DPT, along with guests from different disciplines; participants will have the opportunity to study, learn and sharpen skills, whole sharing experiences and interacting with peers.
Initial topics are outlined to the right, but our long-term goal is to create an ongoing study/learning initiative where the group creates the agenda based on current challenges issues and cases.

About the Speaker
Julianne Costa, OTR/L, DPT, is a master clinician who specializes in the treatment of children from the NICU through school age. Her creativity, deep theoretical knowledge and passion for teaching and passing along her skill set to others, has made her a sought-after lecturer, supervisor and mentor within the domain of early intervention. She currently serves as Clinical Director of Therapeutic Resources, along with a variety other challenging roles within the early intervention and pediatric community.
