About this Event

Full course title:

Develop your cultural sensitivity for successful cross-cultural coaching, mentoring and leadership (accredited with ICF)

Anyone can engage globally, but can you engage successfully?

In our interactive online course you will develop your skills to increase your effectiveness as coach, mentor, L&D professional and leader in an intercultural & diverse context. Based on the instructors' practical experience as international coaches, interculturally relevant research and proven coaching tools and techniques, participants develop their understanding, sensitivity & skills for the hidden mechanisms in cross-cultural encounters .

  • 6 x 2-hour modules (plus an optional 30min discussion)
  • Live online webinars (Zoom)

On successful completion:

  • 12 ICF CCE units
  • Certificate of Completion
  • (min. attendance, quiz & assignment completion required)

Who is the course for?

Coaches, mentors, L&D professionals, leaders and anyone who wants to:

  • Enhance their awareness and sensitivity towards the intercultural dimension
  • Understand the impact of culture on behaviour, thinking & feeling
  • Work more effectively in a multicultural & diverse environment
  • Use cultural differences as a lever for successful engagement with individuals and teams
  • Update their skills & knowledge for the new ICF core competencies

Learning objectives:

  • Cultural awareness & sensitivity for the self & others in cross-cultural & diverse encounters
  • Recognize and understand the different styles of communication, leadership, values and beliefs inherent in culture
  • Learn about relevant theories, models, tools & techniques
  • Practice & apply these new skills & knowledge to interact with more sensitivity in intercultural contexts
  • Create a personal action plan to unleash the full potential of their cultural sensitivity in a current challenge

What will participants receive upon completion?

Participants will be awarded 12 CCE units from ICF and a certificate of completion if they fulfill the following requirements:

  • Attend at least 80% of the live training
  • Pass multiple choices tests after every module
  • Submit & present an action plan after the 6th module to demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes

Participants can take advantage of a complementary 30 minute Q& A after the end of the live modules.

6 weeks of 2-hourly modules:

  • Friday 18th June 2021
  • Friday 25th June 2021
  • Friday 2nd July 2021

Please note: If these dates do not work for you, we will be offering other editions in the future.

Participants will need to plan to invest from 30 minutes to 1 hour each week to prepare for each lecture.

Cancellation Policy

If YOU need to cancel:- Full refund for cancellation up to 7 days prior to the workshop (minus non-refundable expenses to 3rd parties incurred by us).

- No refund for cancellation with less than 7 days' notice or 'no show'.

- No refunds if participants don’t attend part of the course.

If WE need to cancel:- If the course doesn't reach the minimum number of participants and needs to be cancelled, participants can move to the next course date without extra cost.

- Full refund if this course should not run due to unforeseen circumstances (incl. illness of facilitator where no suitable replacement could be found).

Logistics & technical requirements

This is an online Zoom course run on consecutive Fridays from 8.00 am ( UK time ) until 10.00 am ( UK time ) led by Silvia King and Roberta Pagliarulo (with optional 30min Q&A).

You will need a reliable internet connection and access to a device that can run Zoom - a Mac or PC with camera, or an iPad or Android tablet.

You'll also need a pair of headphones with microphone, and a quiet and private from which to join us.

Group sizes are purposefully small to maximise engagement & practice, from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 12 people.

Be prepared to engage in course preparation and follow-up work as well as discussions between lectures.
