Git and Scrum for Group Projects
3 Weeks — Tuesdays and Thursdays: 2pm - 4pm
Welcome to collaboration! Git and Scrum for Group Projects is your ticket to learn about improving the efficiency of your development team. Learn the basics of Agile Development with Scrum. Students will divide into groups where they will practice completing a group project using an Agile approach to development. In additional to learning and practicing Scrum, students will use Git version control to aid collaboration and track their progress.
The project to be completed is an HTML and CSS website. The website will be uploaded to Github Pages where students can both use Git for their source control and view their live site online where is will be hosted for free. By completing this project, students will be exposed the advantages of using Git and Agile development when working in teams.
This is a great course for junior developers or students looking to gain some experience working in groups, or for the software developer looking to polish up their version control knowledge. Are you an entrepreneur or involved in a startup? Have your developers and employees take this course, and learn how they can become a well oiled machine!
There is no homework assigned for this workshop. However, students with no experience in HTML or CSS may spend time outside of class learning the syntax in order to contribute to the project. The emphasis of the course is to learn how to effectively use scrum and Git as tools to collaborate better!
