Event description

Description

Tuesday, June 5th, from 6-7:30pm at Lawrence Technological University's University Technology and Learning Center building, Detroit Public TV presents a reception, screening and discussion of its new documentary, Detroit Designs the World.

Detroit Designs the World is a 35-minute documentary featuring sites from the list of National Registered Historic Places including: Cranbrook, the Highland Park Ford Plant, Lafayette Park, and the GM Tech Center. Iconic landmarks such as these are symbolic of Detroit in many ways: as a city that was once an economic powerhouse, as an influential model of inventive industrial design, and as a community with unique architecture, rich history, and an incredible story to share.

Please join us for this fascinating tour of Detroit architectural treasures and the discussion that will follow. Free parking available on campus.
