A Mindful Path Through the Twelve Steps
Three Sessions Remaining
Summary of Sessions :
a.A working definition of mindfulness will be fully presented.
b. You will experience the basic mindfulness exercises ---utilizing the core concepts of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program of the Center for Mindfulness of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
c. Participants will be assisted in understanding “mindfulness” as a recovery tool –drawing from key recovery resources.
d. Participants will do “mindfulness practice” in a supportive group setting, both formal and informal practices: including yoga inspired stretching exercises, body scans, sitting meditations, and “mindfulness on the go” activities.
e. Guidance will be shared on how to cultivate a personal mindfulness practice in daily life and recovery.
