Organizer
Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc.
In March 2006, Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc. (DBI) was formed to champion revitalization in the Downtown. Our goal is to develop Downtown Bloomsburg as a center of community activity and local commerce, using the National Trust for Historic Preservation Main Street program as a model.
A successful Main Street program is volunteer-driven, tailored to local needs and opportunities, and based on a shared vision of the future. More than 200 residents, artists, merchants, professionals, citizens, and Bloomsburg University students and faculty helped to create our vision at four community meetings held from July -October 2006.
Everyone is Welcome!
There is something for everyone in Downtown revitalization – from recruiting new businesses and organizing events to planting flowers and designing brochures. Our dedicated volunteers come from all walks of life in the community – artists, professionals, retirees, teachers, merchants, homemakers and students.
