Description
When design, architecture, and culture are woven into a hospitality experience the result can transcend the ordinary to become truly magical. Come explore this phenomenon with us for our third Elevated Talk at the HARMON GUEST HOUSE.
Professional illusionist Andrew Evans will set the stage for the afternoon’s conversations with a special performance, followed by presentations by three internationally-acclaimed talents from diverse fields.
Liz Lambert of the BUNKHOUSE GROUP, Bruce Flohr of GREENLIGHT MEDIA, and architect Kulapat Yantrasast of WHY will share their thoughts and work with us. Following the presentations, moderator Jaime Derringer of DESIGN MILK (and the co-host of the Clever podcast) will lead a Q & A conversation.
POST-TALK RECEPTION
After the presentation and discussion, guests can continue the conversation and enjoy more of Andrew’s magic over cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres on the Harmon Rooftop.

Bike to Board
With Rob Forbes and Don Mcenhill of the Russian Riverkeepers
Monday, August 12 | 10A-1P
Design spokesperson, urbanist, and Elevated Talk host Rob Forbes also has a passion for horticulture, the local environment, and a micro farm along the Russian River. This excursion starts with a leisurely bike ride to the River on a Harmon Guest House Public Bike. Once there, you’ll grab a paddleboard and travel up-river with Rob and conservationist Don McEnhill, director of RUSSIAN RIVERKEEPER, for a magical tour. Learn about the waterbirds and wildlife, and hear stories of the river’s history and the Riverkeeper’s conservation efforts. The paddle will end up at Rob’s river home for an al fresco garden lunch and wine tasting.
Standup paddle board experience recommended.
Architecture Tour at Silver Oak Winery
Monday, August 12 | 10.30A-1.30P
There are many wineries in Sonoma County, but there is only one with the modern magic of Silver Oak.
Designed to immerse the visitor in vineyards at every view, SILVER OAK WINERY is a modern sustainable jewel in Alexander Valley whose magic lies as much in its architecture as in its acclaimed heritage Cabernet Sauvignon. Thoughtful sighting, lighting, and architecture connect this property to place in truly unique ways. Join Silver Oak Winery proprietor David R. Duncan and architect Daniel Piechota on an insiders’ tour of this spectacular winery and grounds. Following the tour, guests will be treated to a gourmet lunch and tasting of Silver Oak Wines, while David and Daniel share their design collaboration stories with guests.
Transportation not included
Proceeds from the talk go towards protecting the enchanting nature of our local waterways through the stewardship of RUSSIAN RIVERKEEPERS.
