Designing on the Grid
Monthly Event - First Tuesday of every month: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PDT)
Basic page layout always begins with a good grid system. This class will give you sound design principals and guidelines that will make your layouts more engaging and draw the viewer to important content. Grid systems gained popularity in the 1920s & 30s in the print world although the foundation of design on a grid started with Mallarame & Rimbaud in the 1800s. Works with functional typography, photography and graphic design should be the goal of anyone using layout to communicate, regardless of the medium.
We will focus on Adobe® InDesign® for page layout, but also show grid mock-ups for Web in other Creative Suite Applications.
