Designing for the Future of News: Conversations Between People and Machines
Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Alexis Lloyd, a Parsons alumna and the Creative Director of the New York Times Research & Development Lab, will discuss how we relate to technological systems, illustrate how these relationships are undergoing a paradigm shift, and will propose a new set of values for how we design future interactions with such systems. She will also show how the work she is directing in the Times R&D Lab applies those values to near-future prototypes for experiences around news, media, and information.
This event is sponsored by Journalism + Design, a new interdisciplinary undergraduate program at The New School merging design thinking with time-tested journalistic principles and practice.
