Electronic Access Control - Security Continuum for Openings

Description: This course provides an overview of electronic access control applications for door openings including, mechanical locking, stand alone keypad, electronic cylinder, hard wired, wireless, and power over Ethernet solutions. Applications include:

  • Healthcare Environments
  • Assisted Living Facilities
  • Multi-Tenant Units
  • Campus design

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Review mechanical and intelligent access control products;
  2. Understand how technology is driving smart access control solutions;
  3. Examine the unique applications of intelligent EAC products;
  4. Learn the correct questions to ask and language to use in writing electronic access control specifications.

Advanced Lighting Solutions for Smart Indoor Environments

Description: This course surveys industry-leading lighting solutions designed for healthcare, education, and multi-use commercial environments. These solutions manage the lighting system and integrate with building management systems while enhancing user experience and boosting energy savings.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify levels of system connectivity, including room-based, building-wide and cloud-based lighting solutions and their implications for lighting design;
  2. Recognize the scope of system management capabilities including environmental monitoring and energy optimization.
  3. Define how advanced lighting can enhance user experience through bio-adaptive lighting, scene management and wayfinding.
