Event description

Description

In conjunction with the BLUE Maker Space, the Eship Center will host a workshop around Design Thinking and prototyping. This workshop is geared at getting students to think outside of the box as they use the resources available at the BLUE Maker Space. Design Thinking and entrepreneurship go hand-in-hand: Observe an opportunity. Take an action. Assess the results. Laugh and learn from the failures. Repeat.

After a brief design activity and bite to eat get the creative juices flowing, students will break into random teams (encouraging diversity in degrees) and receive a problem to solve. We will regroup, present and evaluate our ideas, discuss lessons learned and encourage students to continue to improve upon their ideas or work with their newfound teams to develop new ones. This will help students create ideas to enter into the Pitch Party and network with others interested in entrepreneurship and potentially form partnerships for future entrepreneurial exploration.
