Design Thinking for Educators
Event Information
Description
Over the last 20 years, there has been a dramatic shift towards student-centered teaching initiatives. Whether students are engaged in Project Based Learning, Personalized Learning, STEM, SEL or other constructivist learning initiatives they all require one foundational and critical component: empathy.
Design Thinking employs high levels of empathy to help teachers create more student-centered learning environments and helps students solve more human-centered problems in their communities. This course will guide educators through the Design Thinking process to help them and their students build innovative, next generation learning spaces that promote huge amounts of student agency and empowerment.
As part of this workshop, participants will pursue the following learning objectives:
-
To develop a deep understanding of the human-centered approach to design thinking.

Attendees of this workshop will receive the following as part of their registration:
-
