How machine learning is transforming design
Once only the subject of science fiction, machine learning is now part of our daily lives. Think autocomplete on your web searches, facial recognition, and voice command services. Machines are getting increasingly smarter, too, and it’s not far off that they will autonomously think, listen, and see. This is leading to an exciting future where an unprecedented blend of technology and human creativity will transform design. Join us at Design Night to learn more!Hear from UC Berkeley Professor, Ken Goldberg, who will talk about the next wave of robotics innovation, driven by big data and machine learning:
Despite 50 years of research, robots remain remarkably clumsy. There’s a tremendous opportunity to expand robotic tasks beyond home decluttering, warehouse order fulfillment, and robot-assisted surgery. Dr. Goldberg predicts the next wave of robotics innovation will be based on hybrid methods that combine analytic models to bootstrap empirical models, in which data and code are exchanged via the cloud using emerging advances in cloud computing and big data. He’ll present examples from robotics history and emerging results from his lab.Make your own neural network
