What is Design Jam?
Design Jams are day long design challenges where designers and design minded folk from all sorts of disciplines get together to tackle a set experience design problem. Design Jams are run on a not for profit basis by volunteers and champion sharing, open-source thinking and discussion.
Design Jam Dublin is the second Design Jam to take place in Ireland, following the successful roll-out of Design Jam Limerick in April of this year, and is an amazing opportunity for the Dublin UX community to get together in a relaxed environment and share techniques, experiences and expertise.

Who Should Come?
Design Jam is open to anyone with an interest in the design process, on a first come first served basis, but in particular:
User Experience Designers
Content and Copywriters
and of course developers with an interest in design!
What Should I Expect?
First thing in the morning, after coffee of course, participants are divided into teams. Participants are encouraged to define their core competency and what they can bring to a team, and then where possible join a team of people that they don’t already know. This facilitates knowledge sharing, as well as keeping participants out of their set comfort zone. Remember, this is a challenge!
Once teams are formed, the teams section off for an hour of ideation, followed by a quick presentation on the focus and direction they intend to take for the day. After this usually comes a round of informal research and rapid design. Participants are encouraged to venture out onto the streets for lunch to gain insight into their user group, as well as to stretch their legs.
After lunch comes the final round of design, which will hopefully lead to a great final presentation and product!
