Is this workshop for you?
Run once a week over 4 weeks, this elongated intensive is primarily for emerging professionals who have been working for up to 5 years. It is also a good immersive activity for non-designers or teams who already have some experience in co-design, human-centred working practices, who wish to explore complementary processes.
What will you do?
The Emerging Professional level workshops have smaller participant numbers and a more demanding curriculum. Participants are led to audit their current design toolbox, assess their design identities, and begin to experiment with various techniques and methods for recognising insight and value. Rapid design briefs and disruptive methodologies are introduced to stretch personal working practices, translating them into a reflexive and flexible processes.
Towards the end of the course, the participants will be bringing in real-world knowledge they have learned to collect and translate, and together the class will be forming and utilising a custom toolbox of new attitudes, techniques and methodologies for design.
These workshops feature exclusive guest lectures and additional assistance, maximising its learning and networking opportunities.
What will you learn?
Emerging professionals are expected to be able to show an expanded toolkit of personal approaches and responses that they can identify as unique. They will posses techniques to synthesise knowledge, recognise opportunities for creative intervention, and possess a wider perspective on maintaining a cycle of continuous learning and development.
