About this Event

A hands-on workshop that offers practical tactics and tools for bringing inclusion to your design process.

How do ability, identity, culture, and environment influence the way designs are experienced? Join OXD Design Director Kallie Ashenden and Senior User Experience Designer Deb MacKenzie for a three-hour workshop introducing the mindset of inclusive design. Participants will work through hands-on exercises and explore the impact of biases, exclusionary design practices, strategies for including underrepresented groups, and inclusive language and visuals.

Kallie and Deb will lead participants through a number of activities and offer a wealth of actionable tactics to make their processes more inclusive.

“This is a big and heavy topic, but the workshop didn’t feel heavy, and even though it was three hours it wasn’t overwhelming. It was really well structured.”

“Hands down the most impressive and engaging design workshop I’ve been to in Vancouver! More please!!”
